Yet, the rain falls more darkly is a 13 minute work for soprano Carla Huhtanen and the Array Ensemble of Toronto. It is based on the little book of poems entitled Die Letzte Freude (1913) by Emmy Hennings and was premiered 5 April 2016 at Array Space, alongside new pieces by Adam Scime, Scott Wilson and Gregory Newsome. Yet, the rain falls more darkly was commissioned by Array music with the kind assistance of Daniel Cooper, Edward Epstein, and Roger Moore. I am deeply grateful for this commission, and especially to Rick Sacks.
